The Question Of Protection By Max Lucado
"If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Rom 8:31 NIV). The question is not simply, "Who can be against us?"
You could answer that one.
Who is against you?
Disease, inflation, corruption, exhaustion. Calamities confront, and fears imprison.
Were Paul's question, "Who can be against us?" we could list our foes much easier than we could fight them. But that is not the question. The question is, if God is for us, who can be against us?Indulge me for a moment.
Four words in this verse deserve your attention.
Read slowly the phrase, "God is for us."
Please pause for a minute before you continue. Read it again, aloud. (My apologies to the person next to you.)
God is for us. Repeat the phrase four times, this time emphasizing each word. (Come on, you're not in that big of a hurry.)
GOD is for us.
God IS for us.
God is FOR us.
God is for US.
GOD is for you.
Your parents may have forgotten you, your teachers may have neglected you, your siblings may be ashamed of you; but within reach of your prayers is the maker of the oceans. God!God IS for you.
Not "may be," not "has been," not "was," not "would be," but "God is!" He IS for you.Today. At this hour. At this minute. No need to wait in line or come back tomorrow.
He is with you. He could not be closer than he is at this second.
His loyalty won't increase if you are better nor lessen if you are worse.
He IS for you.God is FOR you.
Turn to the sidelines; that's God cheering your run.
Look past the finish line; that's God applauding your steps.
Listen for him in the bleachers, shouting your name.
Too tired to continue? He'll carry you.
Too discouraged to fight? He's picking you up.
God is FOR you.God is for YOU.
If He had a calendar, your birthday would be circled.
If He drove a car, your name would be on His bumper.
If there's a tree in heaven, He's carved your name in the bark.
We know he has a tattoo, and we know what it says. "I have written your name on my hand," he declares (Isa. 49:16).
God is with you.
Knowing that, who is against you?
Can death harm you now?
Can disease rob your life?
Can your purpose be taken or your value diminished?
No.
Though hell itself may set itself against you, no one can defeat you.
You are protected.
God is with you. Amen and amen! =) =)

You Are In a Decent Mood |
You aren't turning cartwheels, but you're having a pretty good day.
Some ups, some downs, but overall you're coming out ahead.
And who knows? Tomorrow could be even better! |
Your EQ is |
120 50 or less: Thanks for answering honestly. Now get yourself a shrink, quick!
51-70: When it comes to understanding human emotions, you'd have better luck understanding Chinese.
71-90: You've got more emotional intelligence than the average frat boy. Barely.
91-110: You're average. It's easy to predict how you'll react to things. But anyone could have guessed that.
111-130: You usually have it going on emotionally, but roadblocks tend to land you on your butt.
131-150: You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.
150+: Two possibilities - you've either out "Dr. Phil-ed" Dr. Phil... or you're a dirty liar.
|
Your Dominant Intelligence is Bodily-Kinesthetic |
You are naturally athletic and coordinated, good at making your mind and body work together.
Sports are fun and easy for you, especially those requiring good hand - eye coordination.
There's also a good chance you're a great dancer, or good at expressing yourself through body language.
You learn best by doing, and you feel like you've always got to be moving (even if it's just your hands).
You would make a good athlete, physical education teacher, dancer, actor, firefighter, or artisan.

I'm feeling very intellectual today. I suddenly came up with a quote. It shall be known as my first official quote! =)
"Death is the ultimate form of serparation, with divorce next in the line."
I have an interest in philosophical ideas and hope to study it in University. But I don't think I'm going to major in it. A degree in Philosophy can't really get you anyway far in Singapore can it? Nevertheless, I believe that I will get a good paying job in the future regardless of the degree that I pursue. ;)
The JAE posting results were released today. In two years, CJC's cut-off points has dropped 3 to 4 points to 13 for Science and 14 for Arts. There was a long queue of people appealing for a place in CJC today. To think that I actually came here reluctantly in the first place! Now, I am very thankful and happy that I am a student in CJC. I cannot imagine myself in any other college other than CJ. Proud to be a CJCian! =) To all those who think that CJC is not a good school and believe the obviously untrue rumour that CJC has a high abortion rate among the colleges in Singapore, think otherwise.
Congrats to Cheryl, Wei Qi and Sarah for getting to stay in CJC! =) They are in the CJ Prayer Group. We have officially 9 people (3 J1s, 6 J2s) now and there will be more to come. Praise God! Huiling, I hope you are reading this! =)

You Are A Realistic Romantic |
You are more romantic than 70% of the population.
It's easy for you to get swept away by romance... But you've done a pretty good job keeping perspective. You're still taken in by love poems and sunsets. Just don't fall for every dreamy pick up line!

Dead beat. I didn't have a decent sleep last night and this morning's interval run during PE lesson wore me out.
On a cheerier note, I stepped into school with a smile today. I enjoy going to school. I enjoy learning. You should too. =) Term 2 is going to be the wk where the bulk of content will be taught and I pray that God will help me to absorb and enlarge my capacity. There are so many things that He wants me to accomplish for Him! =)
I know that those involved in the Easter Productions will be very busy this week. I was one of the actors in the Easter drama last year and I can understand the amount of work the people involved have to go through. I'm so proud of them. Baoli, Laura, Sis Shally, Bro Justin.. u guys will be in my prayers. While they are busy preparing for Easter, I will do my part to pray, bring my friends to the Indoor Stadium this weekend and help usher in God's presence in the Choir. I really hope my friends will say yes when I invite them!
Having CJ Harvesters prayer meeting tml. This is the reason that I live! It's all about Jesus! =)

You don't have to suffer to be a poet; adolescence is enough suffering for anyone.John Ciardi (1916 - 1986)

You don't love me,
Pretend I'm non-existent
even when I'm standing right there
You don't love me,
Never did you express it
How am I to determine?
You don't love me,
Your words pierce and shake me
You don't love me,
all you love is money
You don't love me,
and you can't see
But I will love you anyway
You don't love me,
Not once did u praise or encourage
Not once did you hold me in your embrace
Not once did you show me the way
Not once did you assure me everything's
gonna be ok
You tear me down
You make me cry
No no, you don't love me
But I will love you anyway
Yes, I will love you anyway.

Sorry to everyone who has been checking my blog since I last blogged only to find that there are no new entries... :-X I have not touched the computer for weeks. The past week was hectic but very rewarding and enjoyable. Both days of the crusade with Rev. Benny Hinn were simply awesome. I love
Pastor Benny! :) My life will never ever be the same again. I now have a deeper passion for singing too . . . Not just that.. I feel i've grown much closer to God. Nothing in this world can compare to Him. I love JESUS!! =) =)
I feel that I am a very very blessed person. I found my priceless treasure that is richer than any sliver or gold. 'To whom much is given, much is required.' I am called to be a blessing to the world. I hope and pray that I will always remember how very blessed I am and how much more a blessing I am to be to everyone around me. Life is fragile and I am to cherish every moment I have. I could go on and on and on... God bless yr soul.

* * * + Rain On My Parade + * * *
Finally, I can blog properly for once. My keyboard is so screwed! Every time I press the 't' key, the machine gives a loud "beep"! And when the space bar is hit, the insertion line, instead of going to the next space, goes back to the initial space at the beginning of my first word. How annoying. Talk about the woes of Technology. Huxley's satire on the false promises of Science is really getting into me already.
I'm at my uncle's luxurious bungalow at Holland Green now. This place sure is spacious! I'm watching episode one of the new season of Amazing Race on the TV projector that is three metres long and one and a half metres in breath! That is but one of the amazing features of the entertainment room. It also boasts two flat-screen LG monitors, two sets of the latest Play Station 2, two Osim-7800 massage chairs that costs $7000 each, a complete karaoke system with two wireless microphones (of which I sound surprisingly better in, must be the quality of the system, haha) and a mini Mahjong room. When I first stepped into this room on D-Day of Chinese New Year, amazement was what I felt. It's spectacular. There is more - every single piece of furniture in this house compliments harmoniously with the interior design; of which if I'm correct, costs around $40,000. There is also a balcony at the ground floor that is the size of my three-room-flat. The balcony consists of a mini playground, a mini play pool, a Jacuzzi and a bar table and plenty of unoccupied space. My cousins have an abundance of room to run around and play! =)
Anyway, my Common Tests just ended today. I am awfully glad that it is over. Exams are like my biggest stumbling block. Sleep deprivation, sugar cravings, stress and all ... then I get all this funny thoughts going around my head. My psychological and emotional well-being is affected and I become drained physically and mentally. I feel that I'm so backward in my studies. The feeling of playing catch-up is not good. I definitely need to work a lot harder and smarter if I am to get my very much-desired Aces for my A'Levels. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I mustn't forget that.
