1. Sucess comes from a Latin word meaning 'to follow'
2. Does not come automatically but something that follows as a result of.
3. It is one thing to set goals and another to fufil them!
4. It takes a person with a SUCCESS personality to be successful in life.

SUCCESS

S - Sense of direction

• Know where yr heading
• Be purpose driven - life becomes active and not just standing by to wait for something to happen.
• Jesus didn't allow anyone to deter him not even his best disciples to from going to the Cross.

U - Understanding

• U can't be a sucessful person if u don't have good interpersonal relationships with people -must understand one another
• Misunderstanding is often the major cause for breakdown of human relations.
• Many times we add opinions to facts and are unable to distinguish between them.
• Only 7% of communication is verbal, the rest is conveyed through our tone or body language!
• Don't leave room for second guessing. Express thoughts clearly and throughoughly.
• Break and deter misunderstandings!
• Learn to maxismise other's opportunties to understand you. Build the bridge - allow people to understand you.

C - Courage

• The courage to change.
• Can mean acting on little things - a little step at a time
• Sometimes changes require risks.
• Visualise the times when u have took risks and were successful.
• David told Saul he wanted to fight Goliath. He found strength as he recalled that he killed a lion and a bear.
• Let past sucess built on yr future sucess!
• Not every molehill is a mountain.
• Fear is often a illusion! FEAR= False Evidence Appearing Real

C - Charitable

• The definition of being happy is making others happy!
• The definition of success is making others successful!
• Do unto others what u want them to do unto you.

E - Esteem

• A healthy self esteem is the most important cornerstone for success.
• The greatest pitfall for success is low self esteem. It says "No use, I can't win"
• It is like digging yourself a pit which u can only get out when decide to renew yr mind.
• Self - esteem is not a universal solution but it is the foundation for a multitude of solution.

S - Self-Confidence

• Believing that I am a competent, able human being.
• Confident that "I can do it."
• Phil 4:13
• Instead of thinking to yrself, "Who do u think u are?" Start thinking, "Why not ??"
• A champion is not one that doesn't fail but one that does not quit!

S - Self- Acceptance

• Learn to accept yrself as unique creation of God
• Recgonise that u a person with godly, spiritual gifts.
• Eph 2:10 10 - 'For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].'
• Accept yrself as a new creation of God.
• Acknowlege yr worthiness when you are in Christ Jesus.
• Ps 139: 13 - 14 'For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother's womb. I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.'

FAILURE-type personality

1. F - Frustration

• need not neccesarily be bad if it leads u to positive response
• only bad when reacted wrongly to

2. A - Aggressiveness

• I don't want to be an aggressive person, I want to be an assertive person.
• A assertive person lifts people up and makes everyone work together to acheive the goal.
• An aggressive person turns people off! Watch yr tone and body lang (or the person that yr talking to ;) )!

2. I - Insecurity

• Instead of focusing on goal, yr always focusing on whether u are pleasing people or not
• Stems from feeling of inadequacy, a sense that I'm not meeting people's expectations.
• Leads to false belief and setting of unrealistic goals.
• If I don't have the right personality, even if I set goals, i will give up half-way.

3. L - Loneliness

• Nothing wrong with being alone but
• Loneliness = Putting all energy into feeling sorry for yrself.
• Best cure for loneliness is to get involved!

4. U - Uncertainty

• Believes that "I will never get off track if I don't begin in the first place."
• Always results in stagnation!
• Risk taking may lead to mistakes but giving in to uncertainty means a guarantee for failure!
• Change uncertainty into positive actions!

5. R - Resentment

• Forgive all the time. =)
• Learn to release forgivness!
• Consciously choose to look at a seemingly resentful situation in a different light by placing yrself in the person's shoes.

6. E - Emptiness

• deeper than loneliness
• a void that is not filled, feels that life is meaningless
• really a sympton of low self-image
• Best cure: Invite Jesus to come into yr life to be yr hope and yr future!
• After that, start writing downs goals and plans for yr life.

By avoiding failure, U can't help but acheive SUCCESS! =)
